EriCan Cycling Club Officially Launches as a Nonprofit Organization in Toronto
Toronto, March 31, 2025 – EriCan Cycling Club is proud to announce its official launch as a nonprofit cycling organization, incorporated on January 1, 2025. Based in Toronto, the club is dedicated to promoting cycling, fostering community engagement, and supporting riders of all levels through events, training, and advocacy.
A Decade of Passion: From a Local Cycling Group to a Nonprofit Organization
EriCan Cycling Club (EriCan CC) was founded in 2014 by like-minded Eritrean Canadians who shared a passion for road cycling. Initially focused on recreational rides, the club gradually expanded to include weekly group rides in Toronto and surrounding areas, as well as participation in cycling events supporting charitable causes.
Over the past decade, EriCan CC has grown steadily, fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among its members. In January 2025, the club took a bold step forward by officially registering as a nonprofit organization, solidifying its commitment to fostering a thriving cycling culture among young Canadian adults of African descent and newcomers. EriCan CC aims to help individuals embrace cycling as a mode of transportation, a pathway to better health, and a tool for fitness and well-being.
